Your future role

The ISR (Integrated Services Readiness) department within the MPC Services Engineering (Maintenance Performance Centre) division is looking to strengthen its team for tender and project work in the Traxx locomotive sector. The team’s technical work focuses on drawing up maintenance plans in accordance with standards and regulations, and on calculating, evaluating and optimising life cycle costs (LCC); in collaboration with integrators and system suppliers. A further focus is on contributing to the definition of spare parts and special tools, and on working within the FRACAS (Failure Reporting Analysis Corrective Action System) framework. There is close collaboration with the customer documentation team to enable customers to maintain the rolling stock.

You'll specifically take care of:

• Estimating ISR effort for tenders and projects
• Drawing up the ISR plan for tenders and projects
• Definition of spare parts and special tools; and continuously updating and refining these lists and overviews
• Collaborating with the Procurement department and internal and external suppliers to determine the costs of spare parts and special tools
• Managing LSA activities to fulfil QCD obligations in accordance with the ISR plan
• Managing and allocating various tasks and requirements to other departments, external suppliers and internal partners
• Representing the team in the project and coordinating with project management
• Representing the ISR business unit in discussions with customers
• Organising and conducting ISR Design Reviews (DR) prior to the Gate Reviews
• Participating in Gate Reviews for the ISR area
• Regular reporting to the ISR business unit, tender or project management, and KPIs
  
  
• Defining maintenance activities and intervals for components and systems based on supplier specifications and feedback from the field
• Ensuring compliance with applicable standards and processes (e.g. EN17023, ECM)
• Preparation of LCC calculations
• Monitoring operational availability whilst taking LCC into account
• Continuous optimisation of maintenance plans (including through CBM) to increase locomotive availability and reduce LCC
• Preparation of the required supporting documentation when maintenance intervals are changed
• Collaboration on the preparation of FMEA and FMECA analyses for components and systems in existing and new locomotives
• Monitoring whether new standards need to be applied
  
  
• Work within the FRACAS team to support this specialist area
  
  

Your profile

• A degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from a university or university of applied sciences
• In-depth specialist knowledge of railway rolling stock and at least five years’ professional experience in field service, warranty and maintenance of locomotives
• At least three years’ professional experience in RAM/LCC engineering within the electrical or mechanical engineering sector
• Knowledge of standards and regulations relating to maintenance
• Knowledge of and ability to apply the FRACAS process (Failure Reporting, Analysis and Corrective Action System) during the warranty period
• Teamwork and intercultural cooperation
• Excellent communication skills
• C1 or C2 level in German and English
• Knowledge of other foreign languages is desirable
• MS Office and knowledge of FMEA/FMECA/FTA tools
