job Title : Project Engineering Manager (PrEM)

Purpose of the job: Manage the technical contractual scope of the project ensuring its delivery according to the quality, cost, performance and scheduled commitment originally agreed and, if applicable, updated as a result of negotiated variation orders including activities for Parts and Repairs business.

Key accountabilities:

    • Supply engineering resource/skills to support tenders and projects.
    • Collaborates with Services Engineering and Platforms, to improve the Services portfolio of products and services.
    • Participates actively in the Services Engineering network.
    • Assures the technical support to the projects.
    • Optimises the scope and related tasks of the Maintenance plan.
    • Supports cost reduction actions, with sourcing and industrial.
    • Detects, defines and implements the modifications of the maintained products to improve the reliability and serviceability, in order to reduce project costs and improve the performances of the systems.
    • Proposes innovative solutions and develops and implements R&D programs and new technologies in the maintenance projects.
    • Analyses the technical performances of the systems and the efficiency of the maintenance plan and processes, promoting action plans to improve them.
    • Propose actions to optimise Maintenance plans and LCC.
    • Searches for improvement actions in maintenance operations, performing engineering interface activities with Operations Engineers (depot support).
    • Promotes the use of latest maintenance technics and R&D developments (CBM, RCM, Lean).
    • Participates in the REX process.
    • Analyses failure criticality studies and uses RCM (Reliability Centred Maintenance) and other available methodologies to define and optimise the maintenance requirements, tasks and intervals.
    • Analyses and integrates data coming from Operations (Return on Experience).
    • Manages interface with other Product Lines’ Metiers.
    • Improve Services Engineering tools & processes Lead the Parts&Repairs engineering team in order to guarantee the obsolescence process, to redesign of the obsolete parts, to adjust according new standards and regulation and to manage the workload associated to.

 

Performance measurements:

  • Project QCD (quality, cost, delivery)
  • Project Specification, including Design documents & Projects V&V documents approval status
  • Project requirement database maturity (it covers “traceability & coverage of requirements by V&V”)
  • Engineering management plan application
  • Assessment results based on internal audits and process inspections (applied in the project

Mandatory:

  • Master’s Degree of Engineering (preferable Electrical or Mechanical)
  • 3 years of experience in Railways system/Application engineering
  • Knowledge of rolling stock equipment

Desirable:

  • Master in Business Administration and/or
  • Master in Project Management
  • Knowledge of rolling stock maintenance
  • Working knowledge of safety management systems and safety risk assessment
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office
