R&D Engineering Internship – Development of a Methodology for Characterizing “Slip Slide” Parameters

Context

As part of our research and development activities, we aim to improve our understanding and control of “Slip Slide” phenomena in order to optimize the performance and safety of our systems.

To support this initiative, we are looking for a motivated final-year engineering student with an interest in experimentation, data analysis, and modeling.

Responsibilities

As part of the engineering team, your main responsibility will be to define and implement a comprehensive methodology for characterizing and identifying the parameters that influence Slip Slide behavior.

In particular, your work will involve:

  • Conduct a review of existing characterization and analysis methods.
  • Identify the key influencing parameters and the associated measurement methods.
  • Define a reproducible and robust test protocol.
  • Design or adapt the required test equipment.
  • Conduct test campaigns and collect experimental data.
  • Develop data analysis and processing tools.
  • Establish correlations between the measured parameters and the observed phenomena.
  • Formalize a reference methodology and propose recommendations for its industrialization.

Candidate Profile

  • Final-year engineering student (mechanical engineering, mechatronics, embedded systems, data engineering, industrial engineering, or a related field).
  • Knowledge of instrumentation, experimental testing, and data analysis.
  • Proficiency in data processing tools (Python, MATLAB, advanced Excel, or equivalent).
  • Analytical mindset, scientific rigor, and ability to work independently.
  • Technical curiosity and enthusiasm for experimentation.

Skills Developed

During this internship, you will develop skills in the following areas:

  • Design of experimental protocols.
  • Instrumentation and data acquisition.
  • Statistical analysis and data processing.
  • Validation and qualification methodology.
  • Presentation and communication of technical results.

Expected Deliverables

  • Definition of a methodology for characterizing Slip Slide parameters.
  • Test and analysis report.
  • Technical recommendations and areas for improvement.
  • Documentation of the tools and protocols developed.
Ici, le progrès n’est pas toujours facile, mais l’impact est réel. Parce que l’échelle est immense, les tâches sont complexes, et lorsque le système fonctionne, le train avance, la ville se connecte – ce sentiment reste. Et l’héritage perdure.
