Purpose of the Job

The Logistic Manager/Engineer oversees the movement, distribution and storage of materials in the Signalling Sites Industrial organization. He controls the flow of incoming materials and outgoing finished products to ensure customers receive products on time. The Logistics manager oversees warehouse, inventory control, material handling, customer service, custom duty,  transportation and planning workers, and work to improve the efficiency of the Sites supply chain.


Job Description

  • Create policies or procedures for logistics activities. 
  • Plan or implement material flow management systems to meet production requirements. 
  • Train shipping personnel in roles or responsibilities regarding global logistics strategies. 
  • Maintain metrics, reports, process documentation, Customer service logs. 
  • Solve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports, custom duty or customer issues.
  • Monitor product import or export processes to ensure compliance with regulatory or legal requirements. 
  • Negotiate transportation rates or services. 
  • Recommend purchase of new or improved technology, such as automated systems.
  •  Analyze the financial impact of proposed logistics changes, such as routing, shipping modes, product volumes or mixes, or carriers.
  •  Review global, national, or regional transportation or logistics reports for ways to improve efficiency or minimize the environmental impact of logistics activities. 
  • Conduct or review environmental audits for logistics activities, such as storage, distribution, or transportation.
  • Optimize warehouse lay-out and implement kanban, C-class management, consignement stock with suppliers\in shopfloor

 

Educational requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering
  • Master in logistic\supply chain is a plus
