Financial Controller – Alstom Zurich site

Purpose of the Job

The Financial Controller supports the Site Controller implementation of Alstom’s  processes and directives related to R&D, Tender and CAPEX, as well as hosted Headcounts’ Reporting and Controlling. He or she is involved across the different closing and reporting activities of the site.

The site of Zurich (RSC and HQ) is about 320 FTE. It is an engineering site and hosts the management functions of Switzerland as well as some group functions. It is also home to one of the innovation centers of Alstom.

 

Organisational Reporting

Reports Hierarchically to :  Zurich Site Controller

 

Network & Links

Internal: Finance community, Internal Auditors, Project Team, R&D/Bid/Tender team

External: Statutory Auditors, Suppliers

 

Responsibilities

  • Control expenses in accordance with Internal Control rules and instructions
  • Coordinate with the R&D/Sustaining/Tender Program Managers when Budget is allocated
  • Support Financial presentation for the Function reviews (i.e. PRB)
  • Support in R&O Evaluations
  • Participating in Closing activities : Monitor the month end timetable and coordinate month end activities within the team (AP, PC, Reporting)
  • Deviation / alert analysis and supporting the financial performance of the site with pertinent analysis, recommendations and actions
  • Provide accurate Data for the Budget Process
  • Forex management – management of hedging relations and Teranga reporting of FX exposure
  • Support month end closing and Teranga reporting of relevant packs (Actual, Forecast, Budget)
  • Support the budget process / TYP at unit level
  • Assist the Site Controller in monthly business reviews

 

Educational Requirements

  • Finance or Accounting degree required

 

Technical Knowledge / Experience

  • Experience in accounting, forecasting and budgeting preferably in an international group
  • Good business acumen
  • Ability to use integrated financial systems.
  • SAP (FI/CO/PS)
  • MS Office
