We are currently looking to recruit a Control Room Maintenance Engineer based in Zurich/ Villeneuve, Switzerland.

 

 PURPOSE OF THE JOB

 

As a key member of the Services Team Switzerland, the position holder will work in the Orbita Control Center within the Service site in Zurich or Villeneuve in Switzerland to ensure an efficient remote monitoring of the ICN fleet performance. The Orbita Control center is responsible for the successful delivery and integration of the ‘Orbita’ remote-monitoring capability in terms of fleet management to various rail fleet projects in Switzerland.

With direct access to all the on-board data provided by the Orbita-monitored vehicles, the position holder will provide dynamic and pro-active help, advice and guidance to customers’ stakeholders.

 

RESPONSIBILITES

  • Create automatic alerts for detection of sub-system faults preventing operation of Rolling Stock by using algorithms template of Orbita development team.
  • Elaborate fault findings guidance, repair recommendations as part of work orders inputs and use the feedback loop from maintenance depots, fleet management to optimize the accuracy of them.
  • Monitor the generation of automatic alerts daily, issue work orders to maintenance organization of the customer and follow-up issue close-out.
  • Analyse the feedback out of closed work orders issued by customer, identify root causes, collect key information and close the work orders in the Orbita ticket system.
  • Create and assist in the development and continuous improvement of the working methods and quality processes of the Orbita Control, Center team in order to exceed customer satisfaction and maintain audit accountability.
  • Manage the capture and transfer of knowledge between different fleets and functions
  • Provide help, advice and ownership to close out customer raised queries for Orbita-related issues as part of a continuously improving quality process.
  • Assist local depot/ Engineering teams in the analysis, identification, automation and validation of remote data driven failure mode trend-to-failure identification and codification.
  • Manage the generation and delivery of contractual and internal KPIs for internal and external stakeholders.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Engineering degree/equivalent, along with a strong knowledge and background of train systems and/or train maintenance, good flair for statistics.
  • Some professional engineering experience, ideally in the capacity of a Quality engineer or product introduction engineer or FRACAS engineer within the Rail industry.
  • Good computer skills, including MS Office suite.
  • Flexibility, initiative and team spirit.
  • German or French-fluent (and good level in the other language), fluent level of English.
