Join us as a Commissioning Engineer or Commissioning Technician for Rail Vehicles in Zurich, Switzerland and you’ll be looking at a career-defining role.

 

Purpose of the job:

Applying electrical and mechanical knowledge to modify, repair and test locomotives and tramcars. Carrying out troubleshooting on systems and software components of the vehicles. Identifying the cause of failures. Together with the product engineer, create action plans to rectify the problem and implement the solution. Analysing data from remote diagnostics to determine the cause of defects. Ensure that environmental, health and safety regulations are adhered to in all areas of the working environment.

 

Your responsibilities will include:
•    Diagnosing and documenting the malfunctions of rail vehicles at the customer's site
•    Repair of locomotives and tramways
•    Prepare specifications for materials and tools to be used 
•    Compile inspection instructions and test records
•    Assist and Support measurement and type testing campaigns at customer sites, including foreign countries
•    Support software development and schematic changes for system modifications
•    Collect and document information on customer satisfaction, product performance, and suggestions for product improvements
•    Guide technicians in the maintenance and repair of rail vehicles in compliance with environmental, health and safety regulations
•    Conduct investigations based on remote diagnostic data


Key requirements:

•    Completed apprenticeship in an electromechanical field … and/or … Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, Master’s degree also possible
•    Readiness to travel within the country and abroad
•    Willingness to work with people of different educational levels 
•    Work experience is an advantage
•    Good knowledge of MS Office 
•    Willingness to learn how to use other IT-Tools
•    Strong affinity to IT and software programming
•    Strong problem solution skills

•    German and English language skills required

•    French and Italian language skills are an advantage
•    Car driver licence
