Purpose of the Role:    

  • Build robust and competitive tender cost commitment 
  • Manage Product sourcing reference library to fit with market prices

 

Primary Responsibilities:

1. On Products managed by reference library:

  • Ensures (or organises / leads) PAR meetings are conducted on the Projects using the Products he is in charge. 
  • Regularly extract ERP datas to assess most recent Product competitiveness from current Project(s). Assess current measured performance vs previous formal Ref Lib review.
  • Manages Idea Generation Meetings (IGM), Ensures suppliers suggestions are brought by Buyers, Ensures the link with the DTC team for regular cost challenge,
  • Manages PAR meetings of the Products he is in charge and ensures decisions are made leading to the yearly targets. (Y1/Y2/Y3).

 

2. On Products not managed by reference Library:

  • Lead actions to robustify the Product Cost reference
  • On anticipation to key tenders, leads pre-tendering activities, builds a Product Cost reference in extracting datas from the ERP, updates the costs in the relevant economic baseline,

 

3. On Products in R&D development or directly issued from the R&D development: 

  • Deploys/applies the Product sourcing strategy (aiming at securing the future proper Product life sustaining management)   as defined with the Platform Sourcing Director

 

4. On Tenders

 

A. For tenders based on Ref libs:

  • Challenge tender requirements when relevant (promote standardisation or optimum technology)
  • Ensure requirements (by gap vs. RL) are provided to Sub-systems engineers / Sourcing Domains
  • Consolidate the sourcing commitment in tender phase and the preliminary supplier list
  • Propose ambitions based on Reference Library improvement plans
  • Manage the commitment construction with the sourcing community
  • Lead competitiveness reviews involving the management 
  • Build the costing based on the formal TSP. (tool to be used to build the whole sourcing commitment)
  • Manages the Sourcing Alignment Review (SAR)
  • Presents the costing for validation during the Tender sourcing validation meeting

 

B. For tenders built on full new Products: 

  • Progressively build robust cost assumption on B&C items according to proven models and A commodity managers/buyers commitments.
  • Build the very first costing based on previous references.
  • Assess, jointly with the tender team, the opportunity and risk related to early agreements with suppliers, taking into REX of similar experiences
  • Consolidate the sourcing commitment in tender phase and the preliminary supplier list

 

C. For tenders requesting sourcing localisation in specific Countries: 

  • Ensure a mastering of a local supplier competitiveness.
  • Animate the collection of information on the local network of companies involved, ensure a full overview of the supplier capability network,

 

Key Requirements:

  • Experience in Quality and Supply Chain, Procurement, or related field
  • Tertiary education  
  • Industrial or Project background.
