Could you be the full-time Tender Procurement Manager to join our Procurement team within the UK&I Services organisation?

 

 

Your future role

 

Take on a new challenge in Wolverhampton and apply your expertise as a Tender Procurement Manager in a new cutting-edge field within the Rail industry. Reporting into the Head of Tender Procurement, you’ll work alongside highly motivated professionals within the Procurement Team committed to best in class performance in ensuring robust and competitive tender procurement processes, cost management, and adherence to schedules. We offer flexible working, however the role will require travel for business purposes from time to time including visiting stakeholders internationally.

 

We’ll look to you to utilise your expertise in contributing to the overall success of our projects and the achievement of procurement whilst fostering our values of agility, inclusivity and responsibility. Other aspects of the role include:

A. Product Cost Management and Reference Preparation

 

  • Extract and analyze ERP data regularly to assess product competitiveness and cost management for tenders.
  • Liaise with Procurement Project Managers and the Procurement Platform Team to ensure consistency with regional market expectations and competitiveness management.
  • Maintain procurement reference files and improvement plans for use in upcoming tenders.
  • Conduct Platform ASIP Review meetings and Idea Generation Meetings, collaborating with relevant stakeholders to optimize cost and challenge requirements.
  • Identify risks, develop mitigation plans, and maintain progress dashboards and performance syntheses.

 

B. Tender Management and Sourcing Coordination

 

  • Provide clear inputs on contract conditions, economic baselines, and tender breakdown structures, coordinating with engineering and industrial teams.
  • Challenge tender requirements, promoting standardization and optimum technology when relevant.
  • Define the procurement strategy for tenders and determine the procurement cost reference based on robust cost assumptions.
  • Lead commitment reviews, consolidate sourcing commitments, and propose savings and risk mitigation plans.
  • Manage the construction of commitments with the sourcing community and conduct competitiveness reviews involving management.
  • Develop costings, validate procurement commitments, and ensure closure of open actions before tender submission.
  • Evaluate opportunities and risks related to early agreements with suppliers, leveraging past experiences to increase maturity levels.
  • Coordinate information collection and assess supplier capabilities for tenders requiring localization in specific countries.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in procurement, tender management, or cost analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems and data analysis.

  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
