Could you be the full-time onsite Fleet Support Engineer in New Castle, DE, US we’re looking for?

 

 

Your future role

"Take on a new challenge and apply your engineering expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside dedicated, knowledgeable, and collaborative teammates. You'll provide pivotal technical support and leadership, ensuring the highest service performance of our fleet. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (such as Services and Rolling Stock Engineering teams, Maintenance Planner), analyze real-time data using advanced tools like TrainTracer™ and HealthHub™, and much more."

We’ll look to you for:

  • Analyzing and filtering real-time data for immediate advice to Control Room and drivers during service disruptions,

  • Early detection of maintenance needs through predictive and condition-based maintenance strategies,

  • Generating and dispatching failure notifications and assisting with the creation of notifications/Workorders for maintenance teams,

  • Supporting the maintenance planner by allocating estimated intervention times and updating equipment counters,

  • Assisting DEPOS with log downloads and functional troubleshooting, as well as providing answers to technical questions,

  • Keeping the team informed of current engineering fixes for fleet reliability issues,

  • Conducting background analysis of data to support Alstom teams in improving/sustaining rolling stock reliability,

  • Remotely assisting Amtrak staff with maintenance operations using advanced technology like augmented-reality glasses,

  • Participating in a "hands-on" induction phase, including business travel for on-site training and validations,

  • Reporting to the Lead Fleet Support Engineer and collaborating with internal and external teams for efficient operations


All about you

  • Degree in Engineering,

  • Experience or understanding of railway environments, ideally in systems integration or maintenance,

  • Familiarity with electrical motors (DC & AC) and CAN BUS systems & Ethernet communications,

  • Knowledge of train systems and train control methodologies,

  • Ability to comprehend and interpret mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical drawings,

  • Experience with remote troubleshooting and providing technical support,

  • Autonomous work ethic with the ability to make informed decisions,

  • Resilience to manage pressure and the capacity to say 'no' when necessary,

  • Excellent communication abilities and transparency
