Responsible for all Procurement activities on project, the Procurement Manager will create a buying strategy which considers maintenance & production needs, company budget, and contractual requirements.

 

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Meet with buyers, supervisors, and department heads to understand and support the needs of the business

- Forecast material supply and demand

- Lead requests for quotation (RFQ's)

- Review and negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers

- Delegate within the procurement team

- Train and support management team with regards to procurement related initiatives

- Research supplers and vendors that may meet the goals of the company

- Ensure suppliers have sufficient certifications, accreditation, insurance, as well as the capability to supply to the companys demands

- Manage inventory levels

- Collect and analyze data related to procurement and supply chain to ensure the best decisions are made for both the company and the customer

- Responsible for maintaining supplier contract database and contract performance evaluations.

- Track Purchase Order progress and make corrective actions in order to maintain optimum levels of inventory in support of customer requirements.

- Work closely and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.

 

Required Skills and Abilities:

- Demonstrates attention to details and a commitment to providing a high level of customer service.

- Excellent project management skills and the proven ability to recognize procurement opportunities that will substantially reduce the organization’s overall purchased goods annualized costs.

- Well-developed negotiation and conflict management/resolution skills.

- Strong verbal communication and presentation skills, including document creation, preparation, editing and overall document management using the Microsoft Office Suite.

- Strong business acumen with sound judgement and decision making.

- Must be results-oriented and able to prioritize and focus on key deliverables with an ability to meet tight deadlines.

- Outstanding organizational and time management skills.

- Ability to logically plan, organize, and structure activities.

 

Experience and Education Requirements:

- Degree in business administration, supply chain, commerce, or similar field

- Minimum 3-5 years experience in a similar procurement field

- Knowledge of procurement processes, practices and trends.

- SCMP accreditation or Certified Professional Purchaser (C.P.P.) designation is an asset

 

Location:

Flexibility to work primarily out of our Etobicoke OR Whitby locations.
