Your Future Role
As a Project Engineering Manager (PrEM), you will be the engineering representative within the project core team, leading and coordinating cross-functional train development activities to ensure successful delivery against Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) commitments.
You will manage engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle, acting as the technical authority and key interface for customers and stakeholders. Working closely with Project Managers, Engineering teams, Procurement, Industrialization, Services, and Product Platforms, you will drive technical excellence while promoting Alstom's values of Team, Trust & Action.
You'll Specifically Take Care Of
Project Leadership & Customer Interface
- Represent the engineering function within the project core team.
- Serve as the technical authority and primary customer interface for major engineering topics, including design approvals, variation orders, and significant non-compliances.
- Ensure full compliance with contractual technical requirements.
- Own and manage Train-Level Development Work Packages, ensuring achievement of QCD objectives.
- Monitor and report project development progress.
- Escalate technical issues and key decisions requiring project-level resolution.
- Technical & Cross-Functional Coordination
- Lead and coordinate cross-functional train development activities involving Engineering, Procurement, Industrialization, Services, and other key stakeholders.
- Set and allocate technical and QCD objectives across the engineering team.
- Coordinate development planning, configuration management, change management, Design for Operations, and Design for Services activities.
- Drive technical decision-making and manage design trade-offs.
- Ensure compliance with Alstom standards, platform requirements, product liability obligations, and governance processes.
- Manage technical risks and define effective mitigation plans.
Stakeholder & Platform Management
- Coordinate activities with site and métier management to secure required resources and deliverables.
- Collaborate with Platform Design Authorities to assess and address technical gaps versus tender assumptions.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by collecting project feedback and contributing to product evolution and performance enhancement activities.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of project engineering experience within rail industry.
- Strong understanding of rail product development and rail systems engineering environments.
- Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional and multicultural teams.
