Could you be the full-time onsite Traction System Engineer in West Mifflin, PA, US we’re looking for?


Your future role

"Take on a new challenge and apply your seasoned expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside innovative, dedicated, and collaborative teammates. You'll define the architecture and functionalities of our traction drives or auxiliary converter systems, and lead the engineering studies to ensure performance meets our high standards. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (such as RAMS engineers, validation teams, and technical teams), allocate and optimize transverse requirements, and much more."

We’ll look to you for:

  • Collecting external (customer, standards) and internal (rolling stock) requirements and allocating them to technical teams,

  • Defining the architecture and functionalities of the traction drive or auxiliary converter system based on external and internal requirements,

  • Allocating transverse requirements (EMC, acoustics, reliability, safety, weight, etc.) to various traction or auxiliary functions in collaboration with experts and RAMS engineers,

  • Ensuring consistency and compatibility between all traction or auxiliary functions specifications by verifying every FRS and component specification and by participating in all design reviews,

  • Organizing, preparing, and leading the system design review,

  • Defining, together with the validation team, the traction or auxiliary validation strategy,

  • Writing traction qualification test procedures and reports, and executing traction qualification tests in a power lab and on vehicles,

  • Defining and participating in the commissioning (fine-tuning), and managing it alongside the validation manager

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, or similar related field.,

  • Experience or understanding of System or Traction Engineering, or related discipline.,

  • Knowledge of traction drive or auxiliary converter system architecture and functionalities.,

  • Familiarity with product breakdown structure and design review processes.,

  • Ability to technically lead and coordinate engineering studies.,

  • Proficiency in allocating and optimizing technical requirements across various functions.
