Could you be the full-time onsite Traction System Engineer in West Mifflin, PA, US we’re looking for?


Your future role

"Take on a new challenge and apply your seasoned and specialized expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside innovative, dedicated, and collaborative teammates. You'll define the future of transportation by ensuring the performance of our traction systems meets the rigorous standards and requirements set by our customers and internal benchmarks. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (such as RAMS engineers, validation teams, and technical risk managers), optimize system architectures and functionalities, and much more."

We’ll look to you for:

  • Defining the architecture and functionalities of the traction drive or auxiliary converter system based on external and internal inputs,

  • Collecting external (customer, standards) and internal (rolling stock) requirements and allocating them to the technical teams,

  • Allocating transverse requirements (EMC, acoustics, reliability, safety, weight, etc.) to various traction or auxiliary functions in collaboration with experts and RAMS engineers,

  • Ensuring consistency and compatibility between all traction or auxiliary functions specifications by verifying specifications and participating in design reviews,

  • Organizing, preparing, and leading the system design review,

  • Defining, with the validation team, the traction or auxiliary validation strategy,

  • Writing Traction qualification test procedures and test reports, and executing Traction Qualification Tests in a power lab and on Vehicles,

  • Defining and participating in the commissioning process, and managing it alongside the validation manager,

  • Identifying technical risks and supporting the implementation or update of the technical part of the risk mitigation plan

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering,

  • Experience or understanding of traction system architecture and functionalities,

  • Knowledge of traction drive or auxiliary converter systems,

  • Familiarity with engineering studies and validation strategies,

  • Other skill needed: Experience in leading system design reviews and building Product Breakdown Structures
