Could you be the full-time on-site Site Quality Director in West Mifflin, PA, US (Pittsburgh area) we’re looking for?

 

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your quality and continuous improvement expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside dedicated and innovative teammates.
You'll ensure that deliveries from the site meet the highest quality standards, driving a culture of excellence and fostering customer satisfaction. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (management committee, quality teams, and cross-functional departments), lead and develop quality teams, and implement quality policies and tools at the site level, and much more.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Developing a Quality Culture and fostering a Right First Time approach across the Site,
  • Ensuring alignment of QCD (Quality, Cost, Delivery) objectives with contractual and regulatory obligations,
  • Driving continuous improvement plans to analyze and reduce Cost of Non-Quality (CONQ), Non-Conformance Reports (NCR), Safety issues, and Demerits,
  • Deploying the Quality Policy within the Site's management committee,
  • Overseeing the Quality and Safety assessments of products and services delivered, ensuring compliance with contractual quality requirements ,
  • Increasing Customer satisfaction through regular meetings, Customer Surveys, and product delivery controls,
  • Managing and escalating critical issues impacting safety and customer satisfaction,
  • Ensuring on-time completion of DFQ (Design for Quality) Gate Reviews and Suppliers' First Article Inspections (FAI), including waivers when necessary,
  • Ensuring site QMS (Quality Management System) conformance with Alstom standards, Customer standards, and relevant certifications (e.g., ISO9001, IRIS, CMMI, ECM).


All about you

  • Degree in Engineering, General Management, or Quality Management,
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience spanning quality management, project execution, and operational functions.
  • Experience in the rail industry is strongly preferred; experience in related industries will also be considered (e.g., aerospace, automotive, or large industrial/transportation equipment manufacturing such as buses or heavy machinery),
  • Leadership and team management capabilities: demonstrated ability to grow and coach a small team, influence cross functional stakeholders, agile/problem solving mindset, pragmatic approach, track record of executing objectives,
  • Experience working with quality tools, problem-solving methodologies, and project/operations management,
  • Familiarity with ISO9001/IRIS requirements, CMMI, and ECM,
  • Customer-oriented mindset with a focus on increasing satisfaction,
  • Data-driven decision-making and analytical skills,
  • Courageous and resilient approach to challenges,
  • Ability to manage cross-functional and multicultural teams,
  • Knowledge of railway industry norms, certifications, and standards - preferred.
