Could you be the full-time onsite Project Engineering Manager Traction in West Mifflin, PA, US we’re looking for?


Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your proven and multifaceted expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside innovative, dedicated, and collaborative teammates. You'll lead pivotal initiatives to manage and control all engineering-related activities in the Traction project, ensuring delivery on requirements, budget, and schedule. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (such as Project Management, Procurement, Operations, Sales, Bids), establish and maintain critical interfaces with other Engineering departments and much more.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Managing and controlling all engineering-related activities in the project to deliver on requirements, budget, and schedule,

  • Being the Engineering representative among the project core team and managing the engineering core team to reach its QCD commitment,

  • Leading the design, implementation, testing, and commissioning to satisfy customer requirements while adhering to project budgets and schedules,

  • Establishing and maintaining interfaces with other Engineering departments and with relevant functions such as Project Management, Procurement, Operations, Sales, and Bids,

  • Monitoring, controlling, and reporting monthly all product related financial aspects of the project consistent with the contract requirements and established project management procedures to attain established goals,

  • Ensuring the availability of relevant skills provided by the Engineering Function to fulfill project requirements,

  • Upholding Alstom’s values of leadership, resilience, adaptability, and a continuous learning mindset,

  • Demonstrating adaptability in managing unforeseen challenges and showing resilience in high-pressure situations

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering,

  • Experience or understanding of project management and leadership within an engineering environment,

  • Knowledge of traction systems design, implementation, and testing,

  • Familiarity with interfacing across various departments such as Procurement, Operations, Sales, and Bids,

  • Excellent English communication skills, advanced both written and spoken,

  • Demonstrated leadership skills with a minimum of four (4) years leading teams,

  • Proven ability to monitor and control financial aspects of engineering projects,

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders
