Defining packaging solutions for the projects. Dealing with suppliers about logistic requirements (batch size, safety stock, delivery frequency, …). Optimizing the logistic flows to reach QCDEHS target



  • Work with industrialization team on the lay-out to define the “Supply area” or “Logistic Handling Group “at each workstation (area where to deliver parts).
  • Deal with suppliers to negotiate the logistic requirements to minclude packaging.
  • Perform ROI (Return Of Investment) and TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) calculation to identify parts from PMFU that can be managed with returnable packaging (in an external or internal loop, with or without repacking).
  • Estimate the quantity of packages needed (in an external or internal loop) by making simulation and calculation.
  • Launch a RFQ (Request For Quotation) for profitable packages (topics whose ROI is positive)
  • Write the specifications for the RFQ with a planning: - design phase. - validation of the design (launch the prototype version). - prototype phase. - validation of the prototype (after modifications if required) and launch of serial tools. - validation of serial tools.
  • Specify all the packages in a checklist and put data in the common database in the SharePoint (refer to the link in Error! Reference source not found.Additional Appendices if needed).
  • Write the kitting and packaging instruction sheet (for suppliers or for the warehouse depending on the use of the packaging).
  • Use a validation form including a signature of the other departments that must be involved in the packaging design (manufacturing, warehouse, quality, …).
  • Perform an ergonomic analysis
