Define from functional specifications (Pre-tender, Tender, Product R&D, techno R&D…) a bogie architecture adapted to technical, environmental and regulatory constraints in the form of 3D models, descriptions, diverse specifications (mass balance, main characteristics,…) and any other relevant document.


  • Performs bogie architectural feasibility reviews enabling to define volumes and characteristics necessary to the future definition of the bogie as part of:
    • Pre-tender
    • Tender
    • Product R&D
    • Technological R&D
  • Take into account and reuses technical solutions and proven components on other realizations (platforming, standardization,…).
  • Be able to deal with specific requests.
  • Take the feedback into account.
  • Take into account engineering procedures
  • Ensure watch on architectural choices taken on by the concurrence.
  • Lead the creation of mock-ups and realistic 3D models. The models that will be used as a basis for the future development will be used for tenders, description illustrations…
  • Write technical descriptions: characteristics, technological solutions taken on per job, normative references
  • Possibly write tender clause-by-clause
  • Contribute to preliminary assessment of variable fees at tender level.
  • Writediver specifications (mass balance, main characteristics,…)
  • Ensure compliance of reviews with standard practices, Alstom rules, specifications and any other requirement.
  • Launch the RSAD



  • Mechanic engineer or DUT, BTS, Mechanics Bachelor’s degree with confirmed experience in railway area
  • Validated experience of 10 years in bogie design area 
  • Good knowledge in general and technological mechanics and mechanical system design for heavy industry,
  • Good notions of cost structure optimization (welding, machining, moulded or forged part design),
  • Knowledge of structure calculation area and of finished items method
  • Basic knowledge of railway dynamics area (influence parameters, order of magnitude, …)
  • Basic knowledge of train architecture, box/bogie interface
  • Knowledge of mechanical transmission area (architecture, pre-sizing)
  • Knowledge of mechanical brake area (architecture, pre-sizing)
  • Mastery of 3D design tools
  • Rigorous, autonomous, open-mindedness, aptitude to communicate
