Take on a new challenge and apply your electrical and electronic engineering knowledge, coordination skills, and problem-solving mindset in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside innovative, dedicated, and supportive teammates who are passionate about solving real-world mobility challenges and achieving sustainable local and global impacts. In this role, you’ll coordinate and drive aftermarket engineering activities, with a particular focus on Engineering Service Requests (ESRs), obsolescence solutions, and engineering changes. You’ll work closely with teams across the business, including Rolling Stock Engineering, Project Management, Supply Chain, Configuration Management, and Design Authority, to ensure engineering needs are appropriately prioritized, scoped, budgeted, supported, and approved. Day-to-day, you’ll coordinate technical activities from request through implementation, prepare the information required to obtain Design Authority support and approval, initiate engineering activities through work requests, and help ensure that technical solutions meet customer and business requirements.

You’ll specifically take care of coordinating and prioritizing ESRs, developing budgets and scopes for engineering support, facilitating Design Authority reviews and approvals, and supporting engineering change and configuration management processes, while contributing to obsolescence and technical solutions as required.

Your Role, Your Impact

  • Coordinating, prioritizing, and tracking Engineering Service Requests (ESRs) based on customer needs, technical complexity, resource availability, schedule, and business priorities.

  • Developing scopes, estimates, and budgets for ESRs and engineering activities to secure appropriate support, funding, and approval from the Design Authority and relevant stakeholders.

  • Coordinating with Design Authority, Engineering, Project Management, Supply Chain, and other stakeholders to ensure technical requests progress efficiently from initiation through resolution.

  • Initiating and coordinating engineering work requests and change requests, supporting Configuration Management processes and ensuring appropriate technical documentation, reviews, and approvals are completed.

  • Supporting the development of obsolescence solutions, including reverse engineering, repair, replacement, supplier partnerships, and circular economy initiatives.

  • Ensuring proposed parts and technical solutions meet customer specifications in terms of form, fit, function, reliability, maintainability, and applicable industrial standards.

  • Preparing and/or coordinating procurement specifications and technical requirements derived from customer and project requirements.

  • Collaborating with vendors and internal stakeholders to confirm compliance with technical and customer requirements.

  • Coordinating the preparation and release of technical deliverables such as drawings, bills of materials, work scopes, technical specifications, testing requirements, and supporting documentation.

  • Monitoring engineering deliverables, schedules, budgets, risks, dependencies, and open actions, and escalating issues when appropriate.

  • Providing technical coordination and support to internal and external customers throughout the engineering change lifecycle.

  • Supporting configuration management and change control activities, including maintaining traceability between customer needs, work requests, engineering changes, approvals, and released technical documentation.

  • Maintaining awareness of electrical and electronic standards and requirements applicable to automated people movers and rail systems, including relevant IEEE and ANSI standards.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.

  • Experience working in an engineering, project coordination, technical project, aftermarket, or similar cross-functional environment.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple engineering requests, manage competing requirements, and coordinate activities across multiple stakeholders.

  • Ability to develop and track engineering scopes, estimates, budgets, schedules, and deliverables.

  • Understanding of engineering change, work request, and/or configuration management processes.

  • Experience in the rail or transportation industry, particularly with automated people movers, high/low voltage equipment, or electronic components, is an asset but not required.

  • Knowledge of procurement specifications and technical requirements, or the ability to coordinate their development with engineering specialists.

  • Proficiency with MS Office and familiarity with PDM, SAP, ERP, or similar engineering/business systems.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to work effectively with Design Authority, Engineering, Project Management, Supply Chain, suppliers, and customers.

  • Electrical design experience and familiarity with electrical schematics, drawings, GD&T, or design-for-manufacturing principles are considered assets but are not mandatory.

  • Knowledge of safety management systems and safety risk assessment is preferred.

  • Project coordination or project management experience is preferred.
