We are looking for a passionate and innovative HR Business Partner / HR Generalist to join our West Melbourne team. Reporting to the national HR Lead of the Services product line, you will be the key point of contact for the Regional Rollingstock Maintenance project and will be responsible for coaching our Managers on effective performance management processes, employee investigations, company policy and procedures and key people metrics. It is an exciting time to join the team as the project embarks on a period of substantial change and this standalone business partnering role will be a key contributor to the design, execution and success of all people initiatives.

 

With the support of national and international Centres Of Expertise, this role also offers the opportunity to influence the success of the Services People Strategy through the design and implementation of people attraction & retention initiatives, culture change, community engagement, diversity promotion & opportunities and talent development pathways. Key responsibilities include:

  • Partnering with key business stakeholders to drive strong business outcomes
  • Planning and implementing change such as technology advancement, strategic workforce planning, and people development initiatives
  • Coaching Managers on all people related matters
  • Ensuring effective resolution of disciplinary, performance management, investigations and workplace grievances
  • Supporting the Industrial Relations team with enterprise bargaining activities including but not limited to, negotiating, drafting and lodging Enterprise Agreements and ensuring co-operative, cohesive and proactive relationships with Unions
  • EA and Award interpretation with solid understanding of the Fair Work Act / Legislation
  • Rolling out continuous improvement initiatives and training of end users in new processes
  • Ad-hoc administrative duties when required (reporting, organisational charts and monthly business review)

  • Tertiary qualifications in relevant field such as Human Resources Management, Business, Psychology
  • Demonstrated ER / IR experience

  • Compassionately and confidentially deal with sensitive and complex workplace matters
