Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your trade expertise in a new role for Alstom. You'll play a critical role in operating and maintaining an underfloor wheel lathe, which supports the V/Line maintenance operation. This role will be based at our facility in Newport, however there may be a need to be at West Melbourne occasionally.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Preparing vehicles for machining
  • Operating the lathe to machining vehicles as per the required standard
  • Conducting QA checks
  • Performing maintenance on the lathe
  • General workshop duties as required

  • A team player with an interest in learning/development
  • Demonstrated experience operating a wheel lathe or similar machine
  • Trade Qualification: Cert III Engineering – Mechanical Trade / Fitter Machinist
  • Experience in Rolling Stock maintenance is preferred
