Your future role

 

An exciting opportunity has become available to join us within our Regional Rolling Stock Maintenance operation. As our EHS (Environment, Health and Safety) Manager, you will provide safety leadership across our largest service/maintenance operation in Australia. In this critical leadership role, you will drive the delivery of the EHS initiatives, codes of practice, policies and risk management strategies. You will primarily be based at our facility in West Melbourne, however you will be required to travel to South Dynon, Ballarat and Geelong, as required.

We’ll look to you for:

 

  • Leading, coaching and managing a small team of EHS professionals.
  • Maintaining the EHS & Rail Safety management plans for the Project.
  • Undertaking independent project audits and monitoring safety performance indicators.
  • Leading the Alstom EHS & Rail Safety audit and accreditation program.
  • Driving a 'safety first' culture across the project, and leading the incident and investigation process.
  • Managing Workers Compensation and Return to Work.
  • Collating and providing statistical data and reporting for all sites and the regulators as required.


 

All about you

 

To be successful in the role, you will have; 

 

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and influence at all levels.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing a safety strategy, driving change and a strong safety culture.
  • Significant experience in a Safety leadership position and managing/coaching teams.
  • Qualifications in workplace, health and safety.
  • Experience within Rail, Maintenance or similar heavy industry will be highly regarded.
