Your future role

 

An opportunity has become available to join Alstom within our V/Line Maintenance project. The team within this project play a critical role in ensuring the V/line regional train fleet is maintained and operating to the highest standard. Joining the team as an EHS (Environment, Health and Safety) & Rail Safety Manager, you will provide assistance in the management of business EHS & Rail Safety risks and engage personnel at all levels in fostering a high performance EHS and Rail Safety culture. The role will be integral in sustaining the Australian Transport business's EHS & Rail Safety performance by implementing and maintaining EHS & Rail Safety initiatives, codes of practice, policies and risk management strategies.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Leading, coaching and managing a small team of EHS professionals

  • Maintaining the EHS & Rail Safety management plans for the Project

  • Undertaking independent project audits and monitoring safety performance indicators

  • Leading the Alstom EHS & Rail Safety audit and accreditation program

  • Driving a 'safety first' culture across the project, and leading the incident and investigation process

  • Managing Workers Compensation and Return to Work

  • Collating and providing statistical data and reporting for all sites and the regulators as required


All about you

 

To be successful in the role, you will have; 

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and influence at all levels.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing a safety strategy, and driving change

  • Strong knowledge of and experience in the Rail industry

  • Significant experience in a Safety leadership position and managing/coaching teams

  • Tertiary qualifications in workplace, health and safety
