Job Title: Manufacturing Engineering CO-OP

 

Role Summary:

Alstom has an opening for a Manufacturing Engineer CO-OP in its Warrensburg, MO location. Reporting to the Lead Manufacturing Engineer, the Manufacturing Engineer CO-OP supports the Industrial activities QCD and the processes and systems for production while simultaneously gaining hands on experience with the Industrial deliverables in a live manufacturing environment.  This is a part-time role that will work to accommodate semester by semester scheduling needs of coursework.

Responsibilities:

  • Aid in improving manufacturing processes and tools for cost-reduction, quality improvement and efficiency.
  • Assists in improving a system of production control, standard operating procedures, safety, quality control and training.
  • Supports analysis and updating of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods (Routings, Work Instructions, CAD floor layouts, etc) and production equipment (Machines, Tooling, Tools).
  • Support delivering manufacturing ready-to-serve (RTS) needs with solutions to production challenges on day to day issues.
  • Work targeted continuous improvement projects requiring to scope definition, validation, sourcing, and cost-justification including various tools, machinery, and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods.

Required:

  • Currently enrolled in a local college in an Industrial/Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering major.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills. Ability to work successfully in team environments and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail, meet deadlines, and balance multiple tasks.
  • Strong computer and Autocad skills.
