POSITION OVERVIEW:

On a new program hosted by France Innovation Center, the purpose of the job is to contribute to the development of a railway obstacle detection system (ODS). You will lead the development and deployment of the next generation of Video Analytics algorithms for the Obstacle Detection System (ODS). You will be working within a lean startup pathway and in collaboration with engineering & mobility experts, data scientists, software engineers and devops..

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

In a team composed of resources from Innovation and Technology Center you will take part of the development of an Obstacle Detection System (ODS). In particular you will define, develop, manage & sustain advanced Video & Data Analytics solutions to optimize underlying Obstacle Detection System use cases and innovate within the given scenarios, such as:

  • Gather obstacle detection use cases, identify and detail requirements for each use case
  • Apply the most appropriate fundamental techniques for solving computer vision challenges
  • Select the most suitable tools and datasets for developing video analytics applications
  • Perform technology scoping to understand the value provided by each approach, constrains, restriction, application context
  • Design technical solution for production-grade, including the implementation into the most appropriate hardware
  • Demonstrate the video / other sensor analysis solution value based on real-life experimental measures, including Proof of Concept (POC) and Proof of Value (POV)
  • Evaluate the opportunities from new technologies
  • Support sourcing team in the identification and evaluation of COTS providers
  • Apply a strong testing and quality assurance practices, including cyber-security

 
PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENT

MANDATORY EXPERIENCE:

  • 1 to 7 years in R&D and/or digital companies or software or startups
  • Experience in Computer Vision algorithm design and development, knowing to apply most fundamental techniques (Image Processing, Filtering, Feature Extraction, Grouping, Segmentation and Classification)
  • Extensive knowledge of software development, in Python or C++/C#.
  • Experience with Linux environment
  • Experience in OpenCV library
  • Knowledge of Convolutional Networks and Deep Learning algorithms
  • Knowledge of main types of Machine Learning techniques for computer vision
  • Knowledge of CCTV or Radar or Lidar COTS and/or machine vision

 

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE:

  • Knowledge of Deep Learning frameworks, being able to use existing DL method implementations
  • Experience in GPU acceleration (CUDA, OpenCL)
  • Knowledge of optimization algorithms and inference techniques for CV
  • Knowledge of video technologies such as image/audio capture, compression and broadcast streaming
  • Knowledge of geometry-based methods for CV
  • Knowledge of processing data from other sources as stereo vision or multi-dimensional data.

  • Good oral communication skills
  • Ability to work transversally with Engineering teams
  • Ability to work in fuzzy contexts (programs having a low TRL)
  • Stay connected to state of the art of scientific / technological domains of interest
  • Proven track record for designing stable solution, testing and debugging
