Validation and Verification Manager – Lane Signalling Products (M/F)

Your position 🌈

 

As a V&V Manager you play a pillar role by intervening in several stages of the development cycle: from the upstream phase of capturing customer needs to integration with the customer.
At the heart of the design team and closest to the client, you work on high-level system validation activities and guide design choices.
You work in a stimulating technical context on products with strong real-time and network constraints, in a high-stakes system context.

 

Your missions 🛠

As a V&V Manager, you will be responsible for managing all Validation & Verification activities, from development to project implementation, adapting to the client's needs in terms of quality, cost and deadline:
  • Define the overall Verification and Validation strategy to ensure appropriate coverage and demonstration that customer and design requirements are met
  • Participate in the writing of test plans
  • Conduct the tests, draw up the test report and investigate and trace the detected anomalies
  • Summarize test results
  • Conduct the verification activity
  • Ensure the application and adherence to internal processes and applicable norms, methods & tools, requesting deviations whenever appropriate
  • Define the project Requirement Validation Table (RVT) to demonstrate the validation of technical requirements;
  • Organize and lead documental verification and reviews;
  • Manage full verification and validation of all configured functions, together with parameters and data produced on the project
  • Monitor and follow-up execution and reporting of activities delegated to experts in other departments
  • Define needs, architecture and follow-up implementation of testbenches and analysis tools
  • Be proactive and guide design choices
  • Ensure a technical interface with other professions, in particular with the system profession
  • Represent Alstom in front of customers, partners and auditors, for instance to provide overview of Test strategy, progress, issues, risks and opportunities
  • Ensure a technical interface with the other business lines, in particular with the system and software business
  • Manage functionally the Project Verification & Validation Team and ensure/control their deliverables for the project
  • Provide the necessary support to users.
  • Performance Management:
    • DQI (Delivery Quality Indicator)
    • CPI (Coverage Progress Indicator)
  • Cooperation and support for root cause analysis

The tests are mainly carried out in the laboratory, but the validation engineers may also be required to work directly on the trains or ground installations.

 

You are our ideal candidate if... 🤩

You have the following skills and qualities:

  • Graduate of a Bac+5 degree in computer science such as an engineering school or university equivalent
  • Experience desired: At least 5 years in relevant positions (systems / sub-systems integration, embedded equipment, electrotechnical product development) in a highly complex and normative environment (railway signalling, aerospace, defense, nuclear) would be a major asset.
  • Your leadership allows you to advance your ideas and inspire the people you will interface with.
  • Good ability to synthesize, adaptability, you know how to work in a team, especially in multicultural and multidisciplinary environments
  • Reliability and ability to solve technical problems and ability to make decisions
  • Passionate about software, new technologies, a force of proposal, you like to work in a team and network in an agile and multicultural environment
  • Sense of responsibility, transparency and clear communication.

  • Technical English is essential
