POSITION OVERVIEW:

On a new program hosted by France Innovation Center, the purpose of the job is to contribute to the development of a railway signal detection system (EDS) in line with the Mainline platform and guidance and as defined by the Product Architect. You will be responsible for the design of SIL2 software components based on video analytics algorithms and their implementation into a railway product. You will also ensure QCD management on software development activities.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Contribute to the elaboration of a SIL2 software specification & architecture, in collaboration with the video analytics engineer, in order to identify railway signals in an agile environment.
  • Define the management plans for software development (by customizing and completing internal templates if any):
    • Define the software project management plan in an agile environment
    • Contribute to the definition of the software engineering management plan together with the software architect
    • Contribute to the definition of the software verification and validation plan together with the software architect and the V&V architect
    • Contribute to the definition of the software configuration management plan together with the configuration manager
    • Contribute to the definition of the software quality plan together with the quality manager
  • Develop software components:
    • Perform the software components detailed design & coding
    • Set up the software development tool chain
    • Specify, design, prepare and perform tests and verifications of his / her deliverables
    • Put software work products under configuration management
    • Support software / software integration, together with the other software designers
    • Support hardware / software integration, together with the hardware designers
  • Organize the software Design Reviews
  • Organize and lead software development activities so that to ensure QCD commitment, till the end of software development:
    • Coordinate software development activities (software design - including activities performed by LLCC or subcontractors)
    • Participate to the product CCB (Change Control Board) for software part (i.e. manage commitment and change to software requirements)
    • Alert the reporting structure for any event that could impact software development QCD commitments
  • Establish the consolidated reporting on his/her WP
  • Sustain the software
  • Keep informed of the evolution of technologies through techno watch
  • Contribute to standardization by reusing existing solutions or by implementing reusable solutions, including COTS (Commercial Off-The-Shelf)
  • Apply processes and standards
  • Contribute to continuous improvement (RoE: Return on Experience, process, …)
  • Promoting the Alstom Code of Ethics and adhering to the highest standards of ethical conduct.

 

YOUR PROFILE :

 

  • (M/F) Gratuated from a software engineering school or similar grade in university, you have acquired a significant experience of 5 years minimum in design and development of embbeded systems.
  • You are mastering applications on real time OS such as Linux, C, open SW. You also have an experience on web development (Javascript, HTML5).
  • You have good synthesis skill, you are flexible, you like working as a team member, especially in multidisciplinary and multicultural environments. You are respecting your commitments, with transparency and using clear communication.
  • You are truely enthusiast by SW development, in problem solving spirit, you like working in a team and connected to an agile and multicultural environment. Your ability to stay focused on team objectives, to solve technical issues and to take decisions will be strong assets in order to succeed on this position.
  • You are fluent in French and English

  • 5 years in Software development
  • 2 years in Railway software development
  • Vital or secure software development
  • SW agile development

 

COMPETENCIES & SKILLS:

  • Good oral communication skills
  • Good written English communication skills
  • Ability to work transversally with Engineering teams
  • Concurrent engineering
  • Knowledge of video analytics is a plus
  • Ability to work in fuzzy contexts and fast moving environments
