INTRODUCTION

This position is based on our Signalling Villeurbanne site 800 people), specialized in designing and manufacturing electronics railway systems for on-board and wayside solutions  (traction, monitoring, passenger information, network…), in a dynamic environment 

 

POSITION OVERVIEW

Within the DIS Procurement team (Digital & Integrated Systems - 30 people 300M€), you report to Sourcing Manager in charge of global portofolio of Products designed by Alstom (named Catalog)

You are the representative of Procurement within Product Line team

You are an actor during the NPI phase of a new range of product.

You are accountable during Serial-Life and end-of life of the range of Product,

You are responsible for QCD being said the product could be produced in-house or subcontracted

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your main tasks are to :

  • contribute to Make Or Buy decision by deploying the different Commodity Sourcing Strategy
  • provide clear data (expected quantities, product evolution, ...) from Product team to Buyers to ensure proper procurement activities
  • provide RFQ (Request for Quotation) package (commercial/technical) 
  • Ensure sourced parts are developed/delivered on time in respect of quality and cost,
  • Ensure supplier selection through the Business Award process with Sourcing Commodity buyers
  • continuously lead improvement plans: challenge suppliers, support product/program teams and technical sourcing for additional savings, ensures full consideration of Total Cost of ownership
  • Ensure sourcing central strategy is applied (panel, LCC objectives, dual sources...), as well as processes.
  • Manage risks and ambitions until the end of the program/product
  • Be the owner of the Catalog Material Cost evolution on his range of product,
  • Coordinate claims to suppliers on his range of products.
  • Ensure contract execution of selected suppliers.

 

KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS & EDUCATION 

Diploma/Degree level (or similar level of formal qualification) in Engineering and/or Business.

You have at least 7 years of Sourcing experience within an industrial organization (electronics) with complex projects, ideally in Electronic environment.

You are able to interact within a matrix environment, and act as a leader to efficiently animate/challenge internal customers and sourcing team  

Good negotiation and communication skills.

In parallel you have a significant customer and results orientation.

English mandatory – some travel may be required
