On a new program hosted by France Innovation Center, the purpose of the job is to contribute to the development of a railway signal detection system (EDS) in line with the Mainline platform and guidance and as defined by the Product Architect.

Take part in building the foundations of Alstom Signaling platforms by leading, organizing and performing the verification, integration and test activities of developments ranging from software, to product and system programs fitting the needs in terms of Quality, Cost and Delivery.


Define and lead all the in-house program activities related with Verification, Integration and Testing, either performed by a team in V&V department or delegated to experts in other departments. Cooperate with Signaling team to complement V&V activities with end-user integration scenarios.

When Safety is involved, discuss and agree the overall V&V strategy with Safety Assurance Manager to ensure the achievement and demonstration of the requested safety targets.

Share with Product Architect the V&V strategy defined to deliver a validated program, and agree on requested budget and schedule of inputs and deliverables.


SDS program aim to develop a lateral Signal Detection System for autonomous trains. This system relies on localization brick & RGB camera.


This role will require to:

  • Define the Program Verification and Validation strategy in the V&V Plan, to ensure proper coverage and demonstration that design requirements and intended use cases are met. Collect the contributions of all involved stakeholders;

  • Create the different validation scenarios creation (based on real or virtual datasets) in order to meet program objectives ;
  • Perform and report allocated verification, integration and test activities;
  • Interface with experts in other department to align on selected V&V activity methodology;
  • Represent Alstom in front of customers or partners, for instance to provide overview of test progress, issues, risks and opportunities;
  • Specify, procure, develop, setup and configure assets such as testbenches and instrumentation;
  • Ensure the application and adherence to the reference processes, methods & tools, requesting deviations whenever appropriate;
  • Ensure independence of verification from design;
  • Organize and lead documental verification and reviews;
  • Provide data to maintain applicable KPIs;
  • Provide valuable feedback for REX sessions and continuous improvement;
  • Manage configuration and change management cycle related with V&V activities (simulation configuration, anomaly tracking etc.);
  • If needed, select and manage subcontractors;
  • If needed, manage work package or WP tasks;
  • Promoting the Alstom Code of Ethics and adhering to the highest standards of ethical conduct.





  • Good analytical skill is required. In alternative, you will have an experience in system engineering.
  • Knowledge of at least one of our key domain (hardware, software, product, system) and V&V methodology.


  • Sil2/4 product V&V experience
  • Knowledge of more than one ADM V&V domain.
  • Design and data preparation processes understanding.
  • Engineering and system background.
  • At least 5 years in relevant positions (systems / sub-systems integration, embedded equipment, electrotechnical product development) in a highly complex and normative environment (railway signalling, aerospace, defense, nuclear) would be a major asset.
