JOB TITLE : Solution Manager

Localisation : HQ position, can be based in different ALSTOM DIS sites



Reporting to the Alstom DIS Services Solution Director, the purpose of the job is to support Solution Director for building and deploying the solution’s strategic plan by leveraging developments in DIS platforms to address ALSTOM’s installed base and coming tenders with dedicated services offering.


Purpose of the job:

  • Support Solution Director for building and deploying the solution’s strategic plan by leveraging developments in DIS platforms to address ALSTOM’s installed base and coming tenders with dedicated services offering.
  • Contribute to manage lifecycle of DIS Solutions in coordination with product management and with support of Solution directors
  • Contribute to maintain solutions competitiveness and PDO through reference libraries continuous improvement focusing especially on obsolescence/lifecycle
  • Support critical Services Tenders & Projects.
  • REX Management.
  • Contribute to global services competency management and technical experts’ coordination worldwide.


Key accountabilities:

  • Manage lifecycle of the solutions by making the link between products and customer needs.
  • Put in place solution roadmaps and update them in line with D&B solution directors (and with support of Services solution directors)
  • Participate to product reviews to follow lifecycle status, sustaining budget and otjher topics related to Services (DFS, industrialization, …)
  • Manage product lifecycle & end of life sustaining costs and associated budget from both R&D and projects
  • Support reference library for the solution and its competitiveness for obsolescence/lifecycle
  • Support Region for business opportunities and project issues. Including solution’s installed base mapping with associated business opportunities.
  • Support Tenders and Projects. This includes Collection, sharing and capitalization of REX concerning Services tenders, projects and programs in coordination with Regional Services teams and Platform teams
  • Map and Coordinate transverse resources (Technical / Experts) on global level

Educational Requirements : 

Graduate Degree in Engineering or Business field


Experience & competencies 

At least 10 years’ experience in rail industry

  • Good knowledge of Transport clients / customers in the Country/Cluster/Region
  • Experience in signalling business 
  • Competitiveness focus: Ability to build business cases demonstrating the benefits associated with the technical roadmap and the new features
  • Planning and Execution: Good planning and organization skills
  • Excellent problem solving, critical thinking and decision making. Proactive and efficient responses to pressing issues and challenges.
  • Technical knowledge: ability to understand the big picture and deep dive some specific topics
  • Business Acumen
  • Aptitude in communicating, public speaking and interpersonal skills
