Job Overview
The BTM manages engineering activities during tenders.
He or She‘s responsible to propose the technical solution in line with the customer’s requirements and product/system roadmap.
Organization report
Reports functionally to the Bid Manager, hierarchically to the Project Group Manager
Network
The BTM works closely with the Bid Manager, the Bid Cost Manager, the System & Architecture Manager, Engineering Métiers and the Tender Sourcing Manager
Key accountabilities:
- Analyses specifications, identifies gaps with reference solutions
- Identifies and list Gap versus Standard Solution
- Manages engineering teams and activities (Network, Passenger Information Solution, Train Control, Event Recorder, Passenger Counting) in compliance with tender engineering QCD commitments.
- Manages and presents the Tender Design Review
- Manages Engineering risks and savings mitigation plans:
- Supports, in front of management/product line/customer, the technical decisions taken
- with his/her team.
- Provides to his management regular reporting and performance analysis
- Technological watch in the field of rotating electrical machines; benchmarking
Performance Measurement/KPI’s
- Q: Carry over of standard solutions, No delta between Tender and project technical solutions
- C: Achievement of target price; Respect of tender technical work package budget
- D: On-Time Technical Tender Reviews and Tender Gate Reviews
Mandatory Hard Skills
- Engineering background (bachelor’s degree of Science in Engineering, Computer science or equivalent)
- Electronics & Network technical know-how
