Apprentice Buyer

Within Alstom's Purchasing department, in the D&IS (Digital & Integrated System) field, we are looking for a Apprentice Buyer.

As an apprentice is the D&IS team, you will work on the following missions:

Support the Commodity Data Processing (HMI, Processing boards, Data Recording & Odometry sensors, Power supply, Automation products, signalling….) on signaling/TCMS equipment on board of our projects.

This translates concretely into:

• Understand the strategic issues
• Apply the purchasing strategy to all projects and sites
• Participate in contractual and commercial negotiations with the main suppliers

During this mission, you will be required to perform the following actions:

• Purchasing strategy
  • Consolidation of the figures necessary to monitor the operational performance of the area (savings, BCC, NCE, OTIF, top offenders)
  • Participation in strategic meetings with interlocutors worldwide
  • Implementation of a database listing all project prices & calls for tenders
  • Establishment of a product reference library: mapping of prices and technologies by platform determining Alstom’s competitiveness in calls for tenders
• Construction and management of the supplier panel
  • Support to the Commodity on the management and monitoring of transversal actions (BCC / LCC, verticalization, massification, etc.) with the support of different regions of the world
  • Participation in supplier performance meetings
  • Panel management, monitoring of the financial health of suppliers (focus on America and Poland), positioning on innovation topics (cybersecurity)
• Commercial negotiation and contractualization
  • Monitoring of the global contractual database
  • Comparison of the main commercial terms and conditions

Your profile

Education: Engineering school with a master’s degree specializing in Purchasing or Business School

A first internship in Industry would be appreciated

Fluent English

Good interpersonal skills as well as good communication

You are dynamic, rigorous with a good capacity for synthesis
