Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your Design For Quality (DFQ) expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative, innovative, and passionate teammates.

You'll play a key role in ensuring that braking systems meet the highest standards in terms of safety, reliability, maintainability, and performance across modernization and service projects. You’ll specifically take care of defining and executing validation and test strategies (including lab, static, and dynamic tests), but also support on-site commissioning and troubleshooting activities.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Leading DFQ lifecycle activities for braking systems, including requirements capture, system architecture, detailed design, verification, and validation

  • Contributing to bid and tender phases by defining braking system solutions adapted to customer requirements and performing technical assessments

  • Developing and validating brake system concepts and architectures while ensuring compliance with railway and Alstom standards

  • Managing interfaces with other subsystems

  • Supporting in-service fleet issues and contributing to root cause analysis and continuous improvement actions

  • Providing expertise to optimize performance and reliability of braking systems

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Engineering degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Railway Engineering

  • Proven experience in brake systems engineering or related railway subsystems

  • Strong expertise in Design For Quality (DFQ) processes across the full lifecycle

  • Knowledge of railway braking systems (pneumatic, electro-pneumatic, dynamic braking) and relevant standards (EN, UIC, safety regulations)

  • Experience in bid phase, system design, validation, and commissioning

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary and international environment

  • Fluency in English; proficiency in French and/or German is required

  • Enjoy stability, challenges, and a long-term career free from boring daily routines

  • Work with new safety and performance standards for railway braking systems

  • Collaborate with transverse teams and helpful colleagues

  • Contribute to innovative modernization and service projects

  • Utilise our inclusive and flexible working environment

  • Steer your career in whatever direction you choose across functions and countries

  • Progress towards senior engineering or project leadership roles

  • Benefit from a fair and dynamic reward package that recognises your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and competitive social coverage (life, medical, pension)

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
