We are looking to recruit a flexible and motivated Train Validation Engineer, for our site in Vienna. 


Purpose of the Job


You will lead the Validation activities for the Train level during tender and project execution, commit and manage QCD for Train Validation (TV).




  • Implement the standard process and related methodologies and tools in order to ensure Validation efficiency.
  • Write test procedures and test reports.
  • Perform test Execution.
  • Ensure the timely issue of the Validation proves (including proves of lower level systems and components) and consolidate Validation files.
  • Provide structured REX to feed costing activities, and to enrich the Train Validation metier technical repository.
  • EHS KPI and compliancy to EHS rules in Validation activities.
  • Review part of the Sub-System Validation Plan relevant to test at Train level and accepting (to be included in Train Validation Plan) or reject considering other possibilities.
  • Manage the Train level validation activities, creating and maintaining the Validation Plan.
  • Manage the Train Validation project team.
  • Manage the consolidation of Train Validation commitment and performance in due time for the tender or the project
  • Approve Train System handover
  • Approve reviewing Train Test Procedures / reports.
  • Manage the validation schedule, optimize the validation sequence in relationship with the train design and configuration maturity and test means availability.
  • For Validation scope establish & organize Technical Interface with customer, producing Customer Documents and obtain Customer Approval when necessary.


Competencies & Skills


  • Bachelor or master’s degree in engineering or similar education.
  • Experience in team and project management: 1 to 3 years depending on team size, multi-metiers or multi-sites team and project, including Customer and external stakeholders Technical Management.
  • Train system knowledge (system analysis, railways): at least 2 years.
  • Tests organization capability, knowledge of planning tools.
  • Knowledge of Standards & Regulation and Work Package Management.
  • Fluent in English and German.


The minimum salary for this position is €  3.184,29 gross / month (14 x) for full-time employment according to the collective bargaining agreement. Overpayment depends on relevant work experience and qualifications.
