 Train Cost Manager (m/w/d)



We are currently looking for an ambitious and flexible Train Cost Manager for our site in Vienna, Austria.


Purpose of the Job

As a Train Cost Manager for Light Rail Products you will be responsible to animate the Design to Cost within company Projects.


You will set up priorities and clear guidance to the development teams to achieve the cost objectives and coordinate the Design to Cost resources to deliver the relevant expertise to the Projects.


Your responsibilities will include:
•    Agree the Design to Cost Roadmap with the Project Core Team, the related budget and report on it.
•    Coordinate the whole Design to Cost studies and metiers to meet the agreed objectives.
•    Insure the transformation of the listed opportunities into validated cost reduction versus base line.
•    Be the “voice” of the Design to Cost in the Project team, insure and organize regular Steering Committees to report on the progresses.


•    Accountabilities:

•    Based on the Deliverables issued by the Design to Cost team and other stakeholders such as Sourcing and Industrialization:
•    Calculate, update and validate the Train Cost per Unit.
•    Propose and Agree the Train Target Cost per Unit together with the project team at Train and Sub-System level.

•    Based on the Design to Cost process: 
•    Put in place a Design to Cost governance with the métiers and with the project teams such as steering committees, KPIs & follow-up meeting.
•    Put in place the relevant deliverables to monitor the Design to Cost key success factors (such as Cost Calculation Note, Cost and Saving tracking, KPIs …).
•    Build the dashboard to show it to the Project team.

•    Based on the Train Cost tool set and process: 
•    Calculate & update the KPIs & deliverables for the steering Committees.
•    Realize the Train Cost Deliverables as agreed with the Core Team.

•    Communication:
•    Ensure the alignment with the product definition and put in place a close and fruitful communication with and between all the Design to Cost and Core Team métiers.
•    Make sure their requirements are considered and that Design to Cost results are known and circulated.
Key requirements:

•    Automotive or Industrial background.
•    3 or more years of experience in leading teams.
•    5 years of technical topics, engineering project management experience.
•    Desirable good MS Office, SAP and CATIA V5 skills.
•    Good Industrial Product and Process knowledge and good Product Competitiveness knowledge.
•    Curious, Open-minded, Rigorous with good communication with other people.
•    English and German speaker.

According to the collective agreement, the minimum salary for this position is 3274,67 € gross/month on a full-time basis (14 times a year). An overpayment is possible depending on relevant professional experience and/or qualifications.
