We are currently looking to recruit a Project Engineering Manager Traction Motor in our Components / Bogie & Drives Team, responsible for traction drives (motors and gearboxes) of the complete ALSTOM vehicle portfolio from Light Rail, Locomotives to High Speed trains.

 

Purpose of the Job

The Project Engineering Manager Traction Motor leads engineering activities for electrical traction motors and gearboxes from tender to validation phase. Ensures that the development is in in line with the customer & product line requirements in compliance with Quality, Cost and Time commitments of Engineering.

 

Responsibilities
•  Technical responsibility for electric traction motors (induction or permanent magnet) and gearboxes.
•  Write specifications, clause by clause and identify gaps.
•  Design electrical machines with consideration to mechanical, thermal and acoustic constraints.
•  Lead development activities within the engineering department and cooperate with internal departments.
•  Ensure the implementation of the projects according to the design for quality standards.
•  Propose product improvements in terms of performance and reliability solutions.
•  Contribute to R&D projects and cooperation with universities.

 

Knowledge & Experience
•  MSc. or PhD in Electrical Engineering, specialized in electric machines.
•  Experience of 3 years in electric machines.
•  Experience in thermal field for electric machines.
•  Expert in simulation tools including Flux2D.
•  Fluent in German and English.
 
Minimum Salary Range: € 3.274,67
