Could you be our future Manager Traction Control Products in Västerås we’re looking for?
Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your technical and managerial expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll report to hiring manager Erik Simonson (Traction Control Site Manager, phone +46-702-32 10 80) and work alongside a team of experienced control engineers.
You will lead a team of about 12 engineers working with traction control products. The scope is covering both the development of standard control products used in our traction and auxiliary systems, support to customer order projects, and responsibility for the orchestration of application software.
Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business, such as control, system, electronics, other departments responsible for various software layers and supporting functions. As you will collaborate with colleagues across multiple countries, fostering an unpretentious cooperation is important.
We’ll look to you to:
- Perform all team‑management activities, including overseeing resource planning to ensure the right expertise is allocated to the right projects at the right time;
- Monitor key performance indicators such as on‑time delivery and work‑package adherence;
- Track progress on team development plans; managing recruitment and ensuring smooth onboarding; and conducting salary reviews
- Foster an environment where continuous learning and professional growth are part of everyday work.
- Actively contribute to the Traction Control department’s leadership team, ensuring that established methodologies, tools, and standard ways of working are applied effectively across the organization.
- Play a key role in continuous‑improvement initiatives, working closely with other teams and central functions to refine practices and strengthen overall performance.
- Support the management of the product portfolio and guide your team in the successful delivery of projects and programmes.
- Collaborate closely with the technical project leader to ensure all commitments on quality, cost, and delivery are consistently met.

- M.Sc. in Engineering Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer, Robotics, or equivalent.
- Several years of technical and managerial experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven conflict‑management and problem‑solving abilities.
- A structured, organised, and hands‑on working style.
- A genuine interest in coaching, supporting, and developing team members.
- Ability and motivation to lead, develop, and challenge the organisation.
- Knowledge of software safety standards (IEC61508, ISO26262 etc) and/or experience with rail applications is an advantage.
- Familiarity with agile methods in software development.
- Fluent in Swedish and English at a business level is essential for the job.
