Could you be the full-time ECO Designer in Västerås we’re looking for?

 

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your technical expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll report to the Group Manager Hardware Technology, and work alongside motivated and supportive teammates.

You'll contribute to ECO Design R&D and to expertise continuous improvement. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (Hardware, Mechanical engineering, Components, Project teams, etc.), manage and improve environmental performance of products.

 

We’ll look to you for:

 

Environmental Management System – ISO14001:

  • Propose ECO design yearly commitment and work plan.
  • Propose and follow ECO design dashboard for solutions/products.
  • Contribute to EMS and its processes.
  • Realize compliance assessment.

 

Deploy and apply eco design referential in Tenders & Projects, R&D, Expertise activities:

          Tenders & Projects:

  • Ensure ECO design expertise for local platform, subsystems, tenders and projects.
  • Perform ECO design activities on tenders (contractual and legal requirements analysis and positioning)
  • Prepare ECO design management plan and specifications (train, components or signaling level)
  • Participate to design in order to insure achievement of eco design commitments.
  • Participate to relevant meetings, propose corrective actions and risk mitigation plan.

 

           R&D: 

  • Propose and manage R&D actions in the context of product improvement and/or methodologies for ECO design within QCD commitment.
  • Develop innovative methodologies to be applied as a standard in the design process of products and solutions.

           

Ensure training & awareness actions to non-Eco design people and/or to ECO design engineers.

  • Degree in Electronic/Electrical HW Design or Mechanical Design or Material Science with ECO design cutting edge OR
  • Experience or understanding of Electronic/Electrical components and products.
  • Knowledge of Mechanical design.
  • Good skills in environmental assessment (Life cycle assessment) and related tools.
  • Familiarity with EU legislation for REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization, and Restriction of Chemicals) is an advantage.
  • Knowledge in Circular economy and Sustainability is an advantage.
  • Willingness to learn and develop.
  • Self-driven & structured in your work.
  • Fluent in English.
