Could you be the full-time Converter Control Engineer in Västerås we’re looking for?
Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your technical expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll report to the Manager of Control Dynamics and work alongside a collaborative and skilled team of experts.
You’ll develop innovative control systems and solutions for order projects as well as for standard products used in our traction and auxiliary systems. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (such as PowerLab, Real-Time Simulator setup, and train testing teams), implement and verify control software functionality, and much more.
You’ll specifically take care of designing and testing control solutions, but also provide expert support and lead technical investigations over time.
We’ll look to you for:
- Designing control solutions, such as motor converter control or electro-dynamic slip/slide control
- Applying signal processing, such as filter design or frequency analysis
- Implementing, documenting, testing, and verifying new control software functionality
- Managing source code, configuration, packaging, and software releases
- Executing theoretical analyses on control and dynamic systems performance, such as stability
- Providing expert support, leading technical problem investigations, and proposing solutions
- Educating co-workers and field personnel, supporting PowerLab or train tests, and participating in commissioning and homologation of propulsion systems

- PhD or MSc in Engineering Physics, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or equivalent
- Experience with control system development is an advantage
- Knowledge in the areas of control theory, signal processing, modelling, and simulation
- Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Fluent English skills, essential for working in our international environment
- Intermediate Swedish skills are preferable but not mandatory
