Configuration & Change Manager

to be based in Västerås

 

Your Future Role:

Join our Nordics Technology Centre, a vital part of Alstom's global R&D powerhouse, where innovation drives progress in control, communication, and signalling systems for railway vehicles. With teams spanning Sweden, Germany, Switzerland, France, and India, you’ll collaborate in a truly international environment driving progress in railway innovation.

 

Located in Västerås, our team plays a key role in maintaining and developing the Train Control and Management System (TCMS), working on pioneering developments in Input/Output systems, Human/Driver Machine Interfaces, Train Networks, and Traction Control. As we invest in next-generation products with enhanced performance, cybersecurity, and functionality, this is your opportunity to be at the forefront of technological advancements in the railway industry.

 

What You’ll Do:

Step into a leadership role where your expertise will shape the future of rail. Here’s how you’ll contribute:

 

  • Own and drive excellence in configuration and change management, utilizing advanced processes, standards, and tools.
  • Act as the key interface for development projects, addressing technical challenges and bridging teams.
  • Oversee the management of product baselines and configuration items, ensuring alignment with program goals.
  • Develop and maintain the Configuration Management Plan, guiding the program’s technical direction.
  • Lead Change Control Boards (CCB) and coordinate the change management process.
  • Support program planning activities, ensuring seamless execution and alignment with objectives.
  • Champion Alstom's commitment to ethical conduct and integrity.

 

About You:

  • A Master’s Degree in System Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in configuration and change management processes, tools, and license management.
  • Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies is a plus.
  • Experience in embedded software and hardware development is highly valued.
  • Knowledge or experience with industrial or railway safety standards (e.g., IEC 61508, EN 50128) is a strong advantage.
  • Key competencies: planning, communication, leadership, teamwork, problem-solving, and initiative.
  • Fluent in English, with excellent interpersonal skills.
