Animate/provide train cost assessment

Manage DTC activities within the project team and DTC teams

Set priorities and provide clear guidance to development teams in order to achieve cost targets

Regularly interact with the project team (COD, SSMs, PM, PPM, costing manager...), the DTC network (site and central business), BE collaborators, industrial team, logistics,…

Responsibilities

Deliverables

Provide a train cost assessment in the initial and budget configuration

Determine and share the target cost of the train with the project team (Target Cost)

Share technical and economic objectives with project team stakeholders

Activity process

Establish governance and routines with métier and project team: steering committees, indicator reviews and follow-up meetings

Put in place the relevant deliverables to track the key factors of success of the design to cost

Build the activity dashboard                    

Organizational

Provide and update the project team at least once a month with key cost issues to address

Propose the relevant action plan for each of the issues using DTC processes, tools and expertise

Participate in action plans by providing relevant expertise and analysis

Proposing appropriate and competitive alternatives

Guide, direct working groups towards the most technically and economically compliant design.

Scope of intervention linked to the activity

Animating the DTC activity within the project by following the process and applying the tools and methodologies

Determine the target cost on recurrent costs (RC) on the various train installations by obtaining the support of project stakeholders

Highlight key issues and propose priorities based on benchmarking, expertise and objectives

Define the roadmap on the project and related to project planning

Ensure deliverables meet project planning milestones

Organize solution-finding sessions (brainstorming, analysis of competing solutions)

Establish summary reports, track indicators and changes in production cost

Share the status of the situation and the results of the activity during the project pilot reviews

Others

Contribute to improving the mindset and cost culture of the engineering team (Designer / ME / MLE /...)

Contribute to the improvement of DTC tools and processes

Be the reference for secondary topics related to the development of the Train Cost métier
