System Engineer  (M/F)

 

JOB PURPOSE :

Withing Components Development Site dedicated to Interior Components, in the Engineering Department, we are looking for a Sub-System Engineer for Caterings.

Your mission:

    • Project & Tenders activities for the different Alstom Sites (Caterings)
    • Supplier Follow up (Caterings)

YOUR RESPONSIBILITES :

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

 

Caterings: Subsystem Engineer

    • Cataloge & Standarization:
      • Support on the definition of Catalogue product / strategy in collaboration with Sourcing & Caterings Referents
      • Support to push the standard solution on all tenders/projects.
    • Cooling Systems:
      • Support on the definition of the cooling system architecture, performance specifications and performance tests.
      • Support on the cooling system design and development. Ability to design a system to meet cooling performance specifications, defining the components: evaporator, condenser, expansion valve, compressor, refrigerant quantity, insulation material and its thickness, etc.
      • Support on the definition of Cooling system testing.
    • Electrical Control Systems:
      • Support on the definition of the Electrical Control System architecture, performance specification and performance tests (including software and HMI).
      • Support on the definition of Electrical Control System testing.
    • Water & Piping Systems:
      • Support on the definition of the Water & Piping System architecture, performance specification and performance tests (including potability & sanitary requirements).
      • Support on the definition of Water & Piping System testing.

 

Tender Phase

    • Ensure the correct definition, design, performances and integration of Interiors
      • Analysis of requirements from internal customers (other Alstom Sites).
      • Support during the creation of the Technical Purchasing Specification, in collaboration with Train Design Engineer & the Bid Technical Manager.
      • Drives the supplier technical proposals; Analysis of supplier’s offer together with Sourcing.
      • Deliver/Contribute of a Technical Assesment on the technical proposals to commit, including the correct integration of the system on Carbody.
      • Deliver/Contribute to technical descriptions.
      • Participate to Design Reviews with CDS Interiors Project Team, Train System Engineers & Train Design Engineers.

 

Project Phase

 

    • Ensure the correct definition, design, performances and integration of Interiors:
      • Analysis of requirements from internal customers (other Alstom Sites).
      • Support during the creation of the Technical Purchasing Specification, in collaboration with the Train Design Engineer & CDS Interiors Project Team.
      • Drives the supplier technical proposals; Analysis of supplier’s offer together with Sourcing.
      • Follow Supplier’s development or Co-development with Supplier.
      • Prepare Design Review with CDS Interiors Project Team, Suppliers & with Train Design Engineers.
      • Ensure the quality of the deliverables.
      • Manage the technical Sub-System product.
      • Planning follow up.
      • Participate to Design Reviews with CDS Interiors Project Team, Train System Engineers & Train Design Engineers

 

MAIN CHALLENGES OF THE ROLE :

    • Maximize the change management to secure standardization of solution process.
    • Align solution with business maturity model.
    • Coordinate activities between Alstom and our Suppliers during project execution.

 

PROFILE :  

To be considered for this role, candidate need to demonstrate the following skills experience and attributes:     

  • Graduated with a master degree, preferably in mechanical or electro-mechanical engineering, you have a strong expertise on railway interiors (minimum 3 years).
  • You demonstrate good communication and organizational skills (ability to meet deadlines). You are result oriented and show intellectual curiosity and creativity.
  • Fluent in English, you are eager to work with autonomy in an international environment and to face the challenges of the new Alstom
