What are my responsibilities?

In charge of CDS Interiors supplier’s processes and products validation (railway interiors parts) to ensure parts delivered to Alstom train assembly site are compliant to dimensional, functional and visual requirements.

Is accountable of the sub-system DFQ (Development for quality) cycle application.


Responsibilities

A / Product Concept Validation
 

  • Ensure the product quality robustness during concept & specification phase
    • Participate to design reviews to challenge engineering design about manufacturing feasibility
    • Ensure product key characteristics are identified (dimensional, functional, visual) and ensure their consistency (thanks to industrial toolings)
    • Verify the design is in line with pre-selected suppliers industrial capabilities
    • Ensure product quality Return of Experience is considered during product development phase

 
B / Supplier Product Industrial Development
 

  • Perform product process validation (Go Production, at supplier site) which is authorizing supplier to launch production for 1st batch of parts
    • Validate supplier manufacturing processes to ensure process repeatability
    • Set-up industrial toolings with suppliers to enhance consistency of the assembly
    • Validate special process application (Bonding, Welding, Painting)
    • Secure readiness and conformity of sub-supplier components (extrusion, casting, glass)
    • Guarantee right working environment and adequate manpower skills in the workshop
    • Analyze potential issues during supplier manufacturing and support to implement corrective actions to comply product quality requirements

 

  • Perform product validation (First Article Inspection, at supplier site) which is validating conformity of 1st batch of production to deliver Alstom and start serial production until project completion
    • Ensure parts manufactured for 1st production batch are compliant with specifications (dimensional, functional, visual) and approve 1st parts shipment from supplier to Alstom assembly site.
    • Validate contractual documentations are delivered and approved according to customer requirements
    • Manage quality assurance for 1st deliveries of parts to Alstom site before handover with Supplier Quality Assurance department for serial production

 

  • Metallic commodity specialist
    • Define and promote standard Metallic solutions towards engineering team
    • Be an active and recognized player of Metallic commodity network

 

What do I need to qualify for this job ?

 

  • Knowledge & Experience :
    • 03 to 05 years’ experience in Production Management, Product Engineering or Industrial Engineering
    • Mechanical Engineering background with strong technical knowledge in metallic products and processes (aluminium profiles, stainless steel and sheet metal work, honeycomb, casting parts) to ensure design feasibility and assess supplier manufacturing
    • Special processes knowledge (Bonding, Welding, Painting)
    • Practice of problem-solving methods (8D, QRQC …) and risk analysis methods (FMEA…)
    • Able to work in an international and multi-sites organization
    • Travel : 50% of the time, in France and abroad (Europe, Turkey, India, China)
