Project Planner Interiors (M/F)
Location: Valenciennes, France
You will join our Interiors Component Development Site and Product Family of Valenciennes Petite Forêt, a key actor in the design and development or interior train parts as well as front ends, with more than 180 people & 22 different nationalities, designer, buyer, industrial, quality, Project Managers & Product Experts , working both for French & International projects.
What are my responsibilities?
Purpose of the Job/Objective
Is responsible for the development planning management of parts designed by the Component development site for Interiors.
- Develop and update schedules for projects that reach up to a low level of criticality.
- Collect, analyse, and present the time related project information
- Support decision making process of team to reach On Time Delivery (OTD) performance
- Synchronise schedules with stakeholders
- Manage project scheduling documentation
Organisation Reporting
- Reports to: Site Projects Director – Interiors
Network & Links
- Internal Interfaces: Interiors Engineering, Quality, Sourcing, Costing, Tender teams, project manager.
- External Interfaces: Suppliers, Alstom integration sites, Customers, supply chain, industrialisation site.
Performance Measurement
- Timely updates of schedule and time related KPIs
- Timely updates of schedule related documents
- Maintain the schedule in line with defined quality metrics
Your responsibilities include:
- Apply the company's time management processes
- Promote the time management practices and culture in the project team
- Learn and apply the return of experience (REX) from previous projects
- Continuously contribute to development lead-time improvements
- Develop quality schedules in line with the company's procedures, contractual requirements, and stakeholder inputs.
- Participate in or ensure the validation of the baseline schedule.
- Contribute to the development of the Project Time Management Plan.
- Organize and lead regular project schedule review sessions.
- Ensure the alignment of commitments from both internal and external stakeholders and manage schedule interfaces.
- Escalade schedule interfaces issues when necessary
- Update both internal and external schedules punctually and in accordance with the standards set out in the Time Management Plan.
- Identify critical paths and potential delays.
- Collaborate with the project team to identify and monitor risks and opportunities related to the on-time delivery of the project.
- Prepare schedule and progress reports, including time-related KPIs, and analyse gaps between the actual progress and the baseline.
- Contribute to Earned Value Management by providing physical progress in collaboration with Finance Controllers.
- Support Interiors Project Managers for the Variation Orders (VO) preparation, mainly on schedule impacts
- Offer support to teams on any schedule-related issues.
What do I need to qualify for this job?
Minimum qualifications
- Project management or technical roles in industrial or construction sectors
- Project scheduling experience
- Knows and uses ODYC, Primavera, MS Project or equivalent
- Able to work in an international environment and matrix organization structure: English spoken and written mandatory, French is a bonus
- Good written and spoken communication skills.
Skills
- Working knowledge and skills in project scheduling theory and methods.
- Proficiency in at least one scheduling software tool
- Working skills in MS office tools
- Basic knowledge of time-related contractual obligations and penalties.
- Basic, broad knowledge of railway industry products and technologies.
- Curiosity and a drive to learn
