PURPOSE OF THE JOB
  • In charge of the daily management of the Interiors ProtoCenter VPF (planning, installs, visits, tests, tooling, equipment, EHS, etc.)
  • In charge of the agile manufacturing, assembly and/or sourcing of prototypes, tooling/jigs according to validation or experimentation needs in commercial Projects or R&D programs, using internal (e.g. 3D printing and other equipment) or external means (suppliers).
  • Contributes to tests and validation of the prototypes (e.g. fitting, static load, endurance, etc.), prepares tests procedure and reports, and analyses test results
  • Contributes to sustain and expand the ProtoCenter activities in physical space, scope and resources, by suggesting development or continuous improvement actions.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES 

Responsibilities:

  • Managing the Interiors ProtoCenter VPF in accordance with the applicable Quality Management System, Confidentiality, and EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) requirements.
  • Ensuring the timely availability of space, tooling, (test) equipment, prototypes and manpower resources according to the Interiors Component Development Site and Product Family needs (validation tests, pre-fitting tests, Perceived Quality analysis, internal or external customer visits, etc.), within the agreed planning and budget.
  • Preparing Purchase Requests and following-up production & delivery with the suppliers
  • Delivering Proofs of Concept mock-ups through rapid prototyping (design, manufacturing, assembly, programming)
  • Preparing the tests, and be responsible for:
    • Participating in the design and the development of the tools necessary for performing the tests
    • Implementing, verifying (functional), and ensuring compliance (calibration) of the measuring equipment to be ready at the time of the test.
    • Preparing the equipment for testing. Validating that the applied configuration and pre-requisite testing allows the testing to proceed.
    • Daily test schedule management and organization.  
  • Supervising and/or executing test activities, analysing test results “live” and deciding if test has to be redone or not
  • Writing test procedures and ensure the availability of approved procedures when under laboratory activity scope. Processing the test results data, writing static and dynamic test reports
  • Ensure the capitalization of his/her REX based on previous tests campaign, with the possibility to improve on quality, cost and delivery (QCD).

 MAIN REQUIRED COMPETENCIES 

Educational Requirements

Mandatory:

  • Mechanical or Industrial Engineering background

Desirable:

  • English language (A2 min.)

Experience

Mandatory:

  • Experience in Rolling Stock manufacturing environment (Workshop, PME, Indus, Planning)
  • Ability to define, create and maintain test benches

Desirable:

  • Experience in laboratory or workshop management/maintenance
  • Experience with 3D printing (operation & maintenance)

Competencies & Skills

  • Expected skills according to a Functional Test Laboratory for Interiors parts
  • Autonomous & pro-active
  • Hands-on and DIY attitude.
  • Innovator & fast prototype. Desired: experience in electronics & programming on Arduino/Rasperry
  • Speaks: French fluently + English in professional context
