Join us as a Head of Traction Converter Design & Integration (m/f) and you’ll be looking at a career-defining role based in Vasteras, Sweden.

 

 Purpose of the Job

 

To manage a staff of employees of a Converter Engineering within the site as well as interacting on a global level with other Traction sites and Traction Platform organization.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Provides leadership and direction to the staff of engineers within the team. Ensures adherence to engineering processes to provide high quality designs that meet customer’s schedule and expectation. Define the Technical vision for the Team based on Platform directives as well as own innovation ideas and make sure this incorporated in the long term objectives and let this guide us in the day to day decision making. The technical vision shall also guide us in our close cooperation with other functions such as Supply Management and Operations aiming to come to cost effective solutions, whether that is material, production, operational or maintenance cost.
  • Maintains close contact with staff on status of their work. Communicates and enforces the engineer’s responsibility for tracking their progress and adherence to budgeted hours through task planning. Develops action plans and coordinates resources to address and resolve problems as needed.
  • Ensures that the engineering team is focused on meeting the financial, schedule and technical requirements of the projects they are responsible for.
  • Develops the engineering team to achieve full potential and maximum contributions from the team. Creates and implements plans to improve employee skills, motivation and engagement. Management and development of relevant skills (workforce planning, performance management, career development, succession planning and recruitment).
  • Optimizes communication and relationships with customers and other functions. Continuous optimization of processes/tools/behaviours by taking into account business requirements, customer needs, technical innovations, and new market conditions.

 

  Key requirements:

 

  • BSC or MSC  in Engineering, or equivalent
  • Senior relevant experience
  • Engineering experience in similar field of work / leadership experience
