Job Title – Projects Manager

Purpose of the Job

  • To lead the complete cross functional team comprising of all functions and achieve QCD commitments in line with Project and Platform Requirements
  • Manage Customer Interface with Indian Railway (CLW, BLW, PLW, ICF, RDSO and Other Railway Organization) Organization

Reporting to Head – Site Bids and Projects  - RSC Maneja

Key Network & Links
EXTERNAL to Site  : Customer (CLW, BLW, PLW, ICF, RDSO and Other Railway Organization) , RS Core Project Team,  Sub-system Managers of Design Authority, Engineering Design office & Propulsion Platform

INTERNAL to Site : SSM’s, Site Functional heads (Industrial, Manufacturing, Finance, Quality, Sourcing and Supply Chain)

Objectives
To lead the cross functional team to deliver timely execution of projects, including acceptance and satisfaction of the customer with optimized financial return.

Performance Measurement
QCD of the project and KPI :

  • On Time Delivery (OTD site)
  • Problem resolution on time
  • Customer Complaints
  • DFQ / ME On time (GR Go On Time)
  • Support Propulsion drive reliability/availability (Contractual requirement)
  • Bugdet action plan
  • Customer Satisfaction

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead the activities towards external customer and manage Project QCD
  • Ensure commercial success and satisfaction of the External and Internal customer, considering the other interested/external parties (stakeholders).
  • Put in place the detailed planning from Notice to Proceed to end of Warranty, in accordance with tender and

site strategy.

  • To lead the team of all functions to meet QCD objectives of Project.
  • Organize the project and build the project team.
  • Ensure clear definition of deliverables; communicate their goals to internal & external stakeholders. Allocate budgets.
  • Ensure completion schedule while ensuring compliance with the quality objectives and cost for Projects. Define Governance & formal status reports.
  • Ensure strong Change & configuration management.
  • Control of the budget, establishing financial reports ( MPR & CPR).
  • Identify and manage variation orders as applicable.
  • Ensure the Project schedule with the support of the Sub System Managers & Project Planning.
  • Ensure material deliveries are in line with commitment with Sourcing & Supply chain.
  • Ensure the resources necessary for the good execution of the contract/program are in place.
  • Support reliability growth of the Propulsion Subsystem
  • Identify and manage of the risks and opportunities.
  • Ensure that REX of the project is formalized and cascaded.
  • Participate and/or manage continuous improvement actions
  • Take overall responsibility of Project Management Process

SKILLS & EDUCATION

Desired knowledge / Experience:

  • Graduate Engineer (Mechanical/Production/Electrical/Electronics) with  minimum 12 years  years of experience in Engineering / Procurement / Project Management
  • Project management (planning, organization, delegation, follow up). Project Management certification will be added value.
  • Having exposure to work with international team.
  • Having exposure to work with Indian Railway Organization such as CLW / BLW / PLW / ICF will add an advantage.
