Traction Powertrain System Engineer 

 

Purpose of the Job

Development of innovative train traction and powertrain system using fuel cells, energy storage and hybrid technologies

Development of electrical train traction system (switchgear, inductors, transformers, power converter modules, motors, static converter, etc.)

 

Mission of the Job

 

The Innovative Traction Engineer develops last generation of train traction system based on hydrogen fuel cell, energy storage and hybrid technologies.

Innovative Traction Engineer, following the complete train development cycle from tender to project and validation, shall:

  • Define train architectures based on fuel cell, energy storage, hybrid system in order to satisfy traction performances
  • Define battery solutions in fuel cell and hybrid power traction system
  • Define size of battery and fuel cells in order to satisfy train power performance
  • Define thermal and electrical performance of fuel cell and energy storage system and manage train integration
  • Define train test and validation strategy with the validation team
  • Manage customer, internal and transversal requirements. Allocate requirements to technical solutions
  • Manage technical meetings with the customer and supplier
  • Manage the return of experience from projects
  • Supervise commissioning and validation activities

Educational Requirements and skills

Energy or Electrical Engineer Master Degree preferred

Minimum 3 years’ experience on product development

Fluent English

Able to work in a team and share easily work result
