SENIOR LEGAL COUNSEL

 

Purpose of the job:

Provide senior legal support and expertise with regard to legal issues arising out of the business activity with customers, partners, and subcontractors.

 

The position aims at supporting the business and the Head of Legal/ Head of Legal and Contract Management in all legal matters requiring senior legal expertise, in particular:

Key accountabilities:

  • Prepare, review and negotiate contracts, or other legal documents with an acceptable level of risks              
  • Support the business in all legal and contractual matters including claim management, dispute settlement                                          
  • Contractual and legal evaluation of tender documents          
  • Support the business in proactively managing and instructing litigation, arbitration or other dispute matters                                         
  • Handling of corporate law matters           
  • Promoting the Alstom Code of Ethics and adhering to the highest standards of ethical conduct.

 

Performance measurements:   

Objectives, targets and performance measurements are defined on a yearly basis in line with the company’s financial targets, the General Counsel’s objectives for the Legal, Compliance and Contract Management Function.

Educational Requirements

Mandatory:

Law degree in business law (Master II)

 

  • At least 7years of relevant experience in an international business environment or law firm.
  • Familiar with international contracts Previous exposure to international practice through studies or work experience
  • Familiar with public tenders
  • Excellent English language skill
