YOUR ROLE
The SLE Maintenance Engineer is part of SLE (Services Locomotive Europe) organization. The mission of Maintenance Engineering is to support the local Field Maintenance Engineers on Corrective & Preventive Maintenance which are related to maintenance projects on fleets of railway vehicles. The activities start from the delivery of the fleet over its whole life-time (including the feedback loop to new design). Field Maintenance Engineering supports product lines Fleet Maintenance (FM), with main focus on TRAXX fleets, but not only. 


RESPONSIBILITES
•    Have a complete understanding of the maintenance regime of rolling stock fleets;
•    Collect and appraise in-service field data (failure data and all other maintenance related data, within several FM projects) in accordance with AT procedures and tools;
•    Ensure maintenance labour and material cost related data (the “actual”) are collected in a correct way and immediately available to PM and Procurement;
•    Provide verified and consistent RAM&LCC information (raw and elaborated data) to Fleet Engineering for the study of opportunities and the preparation of new FM offers/bids;
•    Proactively contribute to achieve and keep contractual RAM&LCC performances all over the contract duration, including analyse the failure mode and the identification of the critical systems and subsystem (driving the evaluation of items to monitor by prognostic analysis);
•    Support the local teams on the MMS setup (Maximo), operation and troubleshooting also sharing information coming from other AT organization; 
•    Act as a FRACAS facilitator in the FM Projects’ Core Teams;
•    Monitor that, within data collection and technical support, the vehicles configuration is properly managed;
•    Support all the engineering work related to the projects (in case of technical issues related to the Maintenance- corrective, preventive and overhauls);
•    Identify and close limitations of fleet or product improvements (if dictated by unsatisfactory RAM behaviour in service) by addressing issues to the proper function (Product Division, Services Operations, PM, etc.) and following their solution and implementation, including the interfaces with system engineers (AT and Suppliers) to move ahead in the evolution of prognostic analysis' elaboration;
•    Provide systematic inputs on operation performance improvement, Life Cycle Cost management and technical clearance;
•    Contribute to the implementation and validation of prognostic algorithms to identify the health (degradation and Remaining Useful Life) of the critical systems, to promote the Condition Based Maintenance strategy;
•    Provide technical support and expertise to Procurement on spares, services and facilities, including support to external Suppliers when required;
•    Actively work to optimize the maintenance plan, on the basis of field experience collected by all countries/projects;
•    Interact with Fleet Engineering, Services Division, AT at any level, as part of the organization (e.g. for workshops, trainings, expertise networking, exchange of best practices);
•    Liaise with the wider BT engineering community in order to collect RAM&LCC benchmark figures relevant to any new opportunity/bid/offer/project;
•    Support the local teams in the preparation, submission and negotiation of FM offers/bids to the customer (especially for what concerns maintenance regime/plan and RAM&LCC performances);
•    Proactively act to define and manage any AT interdivisional agreement concerning the share of responsibilities amongst other AT Divisions during the joint execution of new vehicles and FM supply;
•    Support local teams in the preparation and discussion with other Functions, at Country/Region/Group level, all the necessary documents required by AT Bid Governance;
•    Support the Bid team to obtain the required documentation to prepare maintenance offers (FM bids/offers), liaising directly with Product family and Product engineering, and to manage the delivery of Services useful data to the local teams;

REQUIREMENTS 
•    Education required: graduated in mechanical/electrical/electronic/aerospace engineering or equivalent culture 
•    3 - 5 years of experience (in Maintenance and/or Project Engineer) with technical and operational Senior relevant experience in a similar role, ideally in railway industry. Knowledge of railway field would be highly valuable;
•    Is required experience with industrial engineering, maintenance projects or vehicles fleet management and all related aspects (e.g. customer requirements handling, support to manufacturing and operations, interface with other departments and Customer, offers preparation);
•    Capability to coordinate a large number of stakeholders;
•    Ability to work independently on complex tasks in interdisciplinary
•    Italian and English fluent, German would be a plus, but is not required.
